I’m Fire Dog. I’m going to do some product reviews. And today we’re gonna start with riding gloves. You want to think, why am I listening to some chick about riding gloves?

I’ve been riding for too many years. I’m not going to tell you how many. I’m also a firefighter EMT. I’ve been on a lot of motorcycle wrecks, and I’ve also been involved in a couple. So I have some experience,  but again, remember, this is just my opinion.

This isn’t, the opinion of my club that I’m a member of. It’s not the opinion of anything else. And no one’s paying me to say my opinion. This is just straight up from what my experiences and what I’ve come up with.

So what’s the importance of gloves? A lot of people don’t ride with them. I’ve noticed that a lot. But I want you to think about something when you fall. Just walking when you fall. Well, the first thing you do is you put your hands out. First thing you hit the ground with is your hands.

And even walking. You end up with scrapes and it burns like hell. And you get rocks and shit all up in your in your hand. You got to dig out and clean up. The instinct causes you to put your hands out to protect your face doesn’t go away just because you’re on a motorcycle.

When you leave a motorcycle during an accident involuntarily, of course, you put your hands out and you do get road rash, and you do get damage. When you do this, it’s especially if you don’t have gloves.

You really tear up your skin and you can cause a lot of nerve damage. But gloves help. But there are good gloves, and there are gloves that aren’t worth a lot. But still, they’re a little better than nothing.

We’re going to start with the least and go to the best that I have found so far. And I’m just talking about summer gloves right now. Because it is summertime. I might go into some winter gloves in another video. But right now we’re just gonna talk about summer gloves.

All right, so the first summer glove I’m talking about is what a lot of people get. Especially in your new rider, mechanics gloves.. They’re just the cheap buy at Walmart or the auto store.

Mechanics gloves. These are a little better quality. I had to buy these because every glove I owned on a ride was soaking wet, and I needed some dry gloves, and I wasn’t near a dealership, so I stopped to pick these up. But these do have a leather palm, and they don’t have all the the seams.

But I’ve also seen in my experience as an EMT. These shred fast, they shred, they melt. They’re better than nothing, but they sure don’t last very long at all. I’ve seen people going no more than 15 miles an hour, and these disintegrate. So that’s the first set.

Then I’ve got these, are like Harley Davidson gloves, but these are the armored. They’ve got the extra padding and all the knuckles. There’s a thicker spot here.
These are okay. They’re better. They’re better than mechanic’s gloves. I don’t mind these at all. These don’t fit me real well, but I have a dislocated thumb from years ago, so my thumb isn’t in the same place as everyone else’s. So finding gloves that fit me can be difficult. These don’t fit quite as well as some of the others that I’ll show you, but they do pretty good.

Now, I had a set of Fly, F L Y racing gloves when I hit a deer. They were designed basically the exact same way. With airflow, the extra padding. I went rolling across the pavement at 65 miles an hour. The gloves held up really good, but it did actually wear along the knuckle part here, and I ended up with a little bit of road rash right there, but nothing major, considering that I lost all the  skin from my my wrist to my shoulder because I was wearing a tank top on my cut. It was 100 and some degrees that day, and, I was being like everybody else and it’s too hot for gear.

Well, I no longer believe that. And I always wear gear.

Then the next ones I got. These are a set of the Fly. After my accident with the deer, I upgraded and got the Fly that have the plastic knuckle guards. This is a hard plastic. I mean, you can hear it. These are great. My only complaint with these, and, I mean, I wear big rings and my rings fit without a problem. Not a problem at all. And they’re very comfortable. They come pre-curved I think they call it. So they they already are curved for your grabbing your your handlebars. They’re very comfortable. The fly the only complaint I had is I actually wore out the Velcro on the wrist. And then, you see, it came apart right here. But other than that, the rest of the glove has held up great.

Then the last glove I’ve got. These are King. King Incorporated. Here’s the package. They come in. I got them on Amazon. A few, almost two months ago, I was in a motorcycle wreck. Very low speed, 20 miles an hour, wreck. Put my hand out, to stop my fall. Actually nothing broken. My hand did bruise, but nothing broken. The glove did its job. The only thing I did find was that look, there’s just a little bit of stitching that’s popped. There’s just a little bit of abrasions on the palm, but other than that, there’s no damage to the glove at all on the inside. I did get caught on my hand on my clutch lever. And, it actually caught this little piece here, and, and it did rip so that I could get by.

But other than that, no damage to the glove. There. In fact, I went bought a  brand new pair, which are right here. You can see they they still make them. They’ve got the hard plastic extra padding and all the fingers. And like I said, I wear big rings. I can put the glove on. No problem. They’re comfortable. They’ve got padding in the palms. They’re very well made. They’re very comfortable on long trips.

I’ve done 500, 600, even 700 some miles in a day. And the gloves are  comfortable the whole day long. They are. These are the summer gloves. They have airflow. You can see here and here. I like the gray. They do come in other colors. For some reason, gray makes me think they’re cooler. So that’s what I go with. That’s what it is. And like I said, I love these kings.

These were probably what was going to be my next my go to from now on. They’re they’re probably one of the most comfortable ones I’ve found so far, besides my winter gloves. I have a set of winter gloves that are absolutely amazing. Like I said, well, I’ll do another video on them.

I hope you do get something out of this. And, we’ll see how it goes. Okay.
Everyone be safe out there and, have a good night. Bye.
